Safari Beach Hotel is a beachfront property situated in Diani Beach, Kenya, approximately 30 kilometers south of Mombasa. It’s known for its location right on the white sandy shores of Diani, offering guests easy access to the Indian Ocean. The hotel features unique architectural designs reminiscent of an African village, with thatched-roof rondavels nestled within lush tropical gardens. Safari Beach Hotel provides a range of amenities including an outdoor swimming pool, multiple restaurants and bars serving diverse cuisines, and facilities for activities like snorkeling and other beach sports.
Alliance Group is seeking to recruit a proactive and results oriented Hotel Sales and Marketing Manager to oversee revenue growth for 2 of its Hotels- Safari Beach Hotel-Diani, and Naro Moru River Lodge- Nyeri.
Position Summary
- The Hotel Sales and Marketing Manager leads the strategic initiative to improve hotel occupancy, maximize revenues and improve brand awareness to the public.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Strategic Planning
- Develop and implement a S&M strategy that aligns to the Organizations goals.
- Develop plans for revenue maximization from all operational outlets.
- Conduct market intelligence to identify trends, target audience and market competitors.
- Works closely with the front office and reservation teams to optimize pricing strategies and occupancy rates.
Customer Management
- Develop strategies to enhance customer engagement and loyalty.
- Implement customer feedback mechanisms to continuously improve products and services.
Event Management
- Leverage events to build brand awareness and engage with target audiences.
- Plan and execute marketing events, fam visits, trade shows/ partnerships and sponsorships.
Public Relations
- Oversee the PR activities to enhance the Hotels public image.
- Manage relationships with media outlets and key industry players.
- Serve as the brand ambassador of the hotels and represent them at expos, trade shows, workshops, networking events.
Brand Management
- Oversee development of the brand identity and ensure consistency across all marketing collateral and campaigns.
- Implement strategies to improve brand visibility and recognition.
Marketing Campaigns Development
- Lead the development and execution of marketing promotions across various media.
- Collaboratively work with the hotel operations teams to ensure cohesive campaigns.
- Analyze sales data from advertising and marketing campaigns.
- Provide feedback reports to the Board on sales insights and recommendations for optimization.
Lead Sales & Marketing team
- Recruit and train the Sale &Marketing team.
- Provide leadership, mentorship and guidance to the team.
- Monitor their performance.
- Chair sales meetings to communicate work plans, upcoming activities, review client feedback and address operational challenges.
Budget Management
- Develop and implement the annual sales & marketing budget.
- Manage financial resources to achieve maximum return on investment.
- Conduct regular budget reviews and adjustments in line with campaign performance and business priorities.
- Design sales revenue targets.
Website Management & Digital Marketing
- Drive digital marketing initiatives including SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing and content marketing.
- Manage the properties websites ensuring optimal user experience and regular content updates.
Qualifications and Prerequisites
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Marketing from a recognized university.
- At least 5 years work experience as a Sales and Marketing Manager in the hotel industry.
- Strong Leadership and team management skills
- Must have excellent relationship account management skills.
- Must have strong organizational, time management, negotiation, communication skills.
- Proficiency in digital marketing tools and techniques.
- Knowledge in business development and revenue management.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
